Is 'iT: Welcome to Derry ' Worth Watching

With Andy Muschietti back as a series developer and directing several episodes, Welcome to Derry delivers plenty of the dark, disturbing horror that the fans expect. It also does a solid job of recreating the movie’s atmosphere thanks to the throwback 1960s setting.

Despite knowing where the story eventually leads, exploring Pennywise’s earlier cycle and the deeper history of Derry still feels fresh and intriguing. There’s also a fun “House of the Dragon effect,” where you’ll recognise familiar last names — the show features the parents and close ancestors of characters from the films.

While newcomers can enjoy the series without having seen the IT movies, rewatching them definitely helps you appreciate the callbacks and subtle references.
